Bargemusic, New York's popular floating recital hall that is docked near the Brooklyn Bridge, continues to draw audiences to its Here and Now series of contemporary music programs. On Sept. 19 "Tokyo to New York" offers 16 short works that are either world or American premieres. The performers are Thomas Piercy, alternating on clarinet and hichiriki, and the pianist Noritaka Ito. On Sept. 24 "Beyond Minimalism" presents works by Andrew Shapiro, John Adams, Conrad Cummings, Peter Flint and Stephen Dembski, all played by the violinist Gregory Fulkerson and the pianist Thomas Rosenkranz.
