Towards A Theatrical Cinema
An active workshop with plenty of emphasis and focus on led experimentation.
Following the 'In Camera' approach developed by Simon Blakeman (TheatreSpace) in order to bring the world of the camera into a lively, playful style of theatre, with a view to making short films.
We will look at:
The ensembles eye view " sharing the perspective
The value of the out take
Being present in the future
The power cut (the difference between montage and editing)
Directing attention " manual Focus - how to create a physical composition
The workshop is for anyone interested in bringing together the spontaneity of improvisational, foolish theatre and the living presence of the camera (audience to be). It would be especially useful for those wishing to find inspiration for their own film making.
