Jess Burkle's larkish, winking new adaptation, directed by Hal Brooks, reframes Molire's play in modern, colloquial language but succeeds only intermittently in the fun it means to have. Well cast as the handsome seducer, Justin Adams plays him as a comic embodiment of everyone's awful ex, but this disjointed version of the tale renders Don Juan an antihero without a foil (2:15).
