(previews start on Aug. 22; opens on Sept. 10) Robert O'Hara's playlets, which consider contemporary black and gay life, might not taste so sweet. As this work's writer and director, Mr. O'Hara lends his barbed, funny voice to sketches involving divorcing lesbians, vindictive trysts and an effeminate teenager. Several members of the original cast - the play had its premiere in 2011 at the Woolly Mammoth Theater in Washington, D.C. - will reunite for the New York opening.
