Too good, Too Late!

It's an all too familiar, but unfortunate, story for a reviewer. With so many shows too see, one of the best ones comes in the last couple of days of the Festival when there's no time to tell anyone. That, it seems is the case with the Vaudeville Cabaret Club at The Bongo Club. Last night I went along and was reminded what the Fringe is all about.

Host Dusty Limits is at the top of his game this year, singing bawdy ballads, his sharp wit tears chunks out of the audience and Fringe establishment like a whip. I saw Dusty last year and was not too impressed, but it seems the change of venue has worked wonders on this razor-cheeked devil. The rest of the show consisted of a variety of sinister singers, tortured trapeze artists, poetic comediennes and more. The best of the fest, hand picked for your entertainment. There were some bizarre moments though, including what can only be described as Frank Sidebottom crossed with a fly, which seemed as though they may be an in-joke, as some of the audience found this hilarious.

A pity that I've seen this so late in the fringe as it is definitely one of the better shows this year, and The Bongo Club lending itself perfectly to a cabaret venue. One of the best shows on the Fringe, it's just a shame there's barely time left for you to see it.
