The Festival Media Network Advertising Manager was launched in 2011 and designed specifically to make it easier for show promoters to get their banner ads online quickly, without the need for red tape, but with a bucket load of statistics to let them know how their ads are performing. Campaigns start from as little as £1+VAT, and your ad could be online within minutes.
There are three steps to getting your ad online; (1) Create an advertiser account, (2) Upload your ad banners, and (3) Create your campaigns. These steps are described below in detail, with screenshots. If you have any problems or would prefer to book your ad campaigns directly, don't hesitate to contact us at advertising@broadwaybaby.com - we're here to help you maximise your advertising performance.
Step 1: Create an advertiser account.
Go to http://www.festivalmedianetwork.com/ads, and you'll see a link in the navigation bar called 'Advertiser Join'.

When you click on this, you'll see the form below:

- Enter a username and password that you will use to log back into the system. Also enter your real name and email address.
- If you are VAT registered, enter that here. Otherwise leave blank
- To ensure you're a real person rather than a spam bot, enter the numbers in the image in the box below.
And that's all you need to do to create your advertiser account.
Step 2: Upload your ad banner
From the navigation menu, select the 'New Ad' link

You will be be presented with the following form:

- Give this advert a name for your own reference.
- Select the advert type
When you press submit, the following form appears:

- This should be pre-populated with your banner name. You can change it if you wish.
- Enter the full URL of where you want to take a visitor when they click on your ad. Don't forget the http://
- Click the button to locate the banner on your hard drive. Formats include GIF, Animated GIF, JPG or PNG.
- Enter the ALT tag for the banner. That's the text that displays when someone mouses over your banner. You can use this to provide more info about your show.
Press the save button, and you will automatically be taken to the campaign page.
Step 3: Create your campaign

- A zone is where you want to display your ad. Only zones appropriate to your ad size will be shown.
- Select the number of impressions (views) you want to purchase. The price per 100 impressions is shown.
- You can restrict when your ad is displayed. So you can start or end your campaign whenever you like, or even restrict it to only appearing in the afternoon on Mondays. You have complete control. (Be aware that if you are too restrictive, you may not get as many ad views as you need to deliver your campaign).
- Here you can set the maximum number of impressions you want to show per day. Useful if you want to spread your campaign over your run.
- If you select 'pay' directly', the next page will take you to the PayPal payment page. If you have credit on your account, you can choose to use that credit on this campaign.

Note - VAT is added at the appropriate amount when you pay for your ads. The credit on your account doesn't show the VAT portion, but it will appear in your invoices, so if you are registered you can reclaim it.
If you selected 'pay directly', you'll see the PayPal button. Click it.

PayPal allows you to pay with most major credit cards or from your PayPal balance. If you don't have a PayPal account, you don't need to create one, simply use the 'no account' link on the payment page:

And you're done! Your ad will require approval by an administrator (just to make sure your banner is appropriate!), but they will be notified as soon as you upload your artwork, and approvals are very fast.
Once your ad is running, there are a number of tools in the system that allow you to track the performance of your campaigns.

The campaign summary screen will show you an overview of all the campaigns you are currently running.

You can also drill down to daily statistics of views and clicks.

You can even see where your ad appeared, and which country your ads are being shown in.
All in all, the FMN Ad Manager is a powerful way to get your banners in front of a Fringe theatre audience. And with ads starting at 100 impressions for just £1+VAT, it's one of the most cost effective ways to advertise.
