This show provides an enjoyable hour of new material from Stephen Grant that aims to explore and confront stereotypes.

His show begins with a unique and hilarious warm up act that engages the audience from the outset. Through his observations and witty one-liners he confronts everyday stereotypes and intelligently tackles the media both left and right. He’s not afraid to take a controversial viewpoint and relishes challenging inaccuracies. As in previous shows he treats us to a preview of his inspired inventions.

Whilst his show last year had a clear theme this years material seems somewhat disjointed but still succeeds in entertaining. He cleverly analyses his subjects in a charming, witty and self-deprecating manner. It remains the case that Stephen is at his best when interacting with his audience.

He claims nobody knows who he is but he has a genuine talent, which deserves to be recognised. Based on last years storming performance there’s no reason to doubt that as he settles into his new material he’ll keep this year’s audiences thoroughly entertained. [Bruce Kent]
