Five talented actors explore through physical theatre the many significant life events to which our beds bear witness.

Through a series of interwoven stories and loosely defined characters the company explore themes of life and death: birth, lust, desire, sex, dreams and illness. The cast uses choreographed movements and occasional dialogue to tell their stories. With a few simple touches they succeed in creating genuinely poignant moments that linger in the mind.

Three duvet clad beds and screens are ingeniously employed to define each scene. Actors and beds glide seamlessly around the bare stage, characters disappearing under mattresses and duvets to miraculously reappear elsewhere.

The show is performed to ambient music played live by Shane Durrant, which effectively contributes to the dreamlike sequences created on stage.

This is adventurous experimental theatre performed with passion and conviction. Although quite abstract and not to everyone’s taste this show provides an hours worth of mesmerising entertainment. [Bruce Kent]
